We can correct most vision problems with contact lenses. If you have been told that you cannot wear contacts but you are still interested in alternatives to glasses, ask us. Options: Trivex: It has been a long time since a new lens material was introduced, but Trivex is an excellent new product that has the advantages of high index materials (lighter and thinner) but the safety profile of polycarbonate (virtually unbreakable) with the advantage of the best optical properties (no distortion in the periphery). Antireflective Coating: Known as ARC, this type of coating has been available for a long time, but there are new advances in manufacturing that make this product a "must have" (all of us in the biz always order our own products with this coating). ARC coatings have two major benefits: they make your glasses look better to others because they don't show reflections and more importantly, they allow more light into your eyes, making your vision sharper and brighter. It also makes your lenses more scratch resistant. Transition Lenses: This product has also been improved. These lenses let you go outdoors without having to always reach for your sunglasses. They quickly turn dark when you go outside and return to their clear state when you return indoors. While they may not absolutely replace sunglasses, they can keep you from needing them much of the time. They also come pre-scratch resistant and UV treated. Frame styles: We have always prided ourselves on having high quality materials in our office. We also enjoy being able to offer you choices that you cannot find everywhere else. (Our optical staff has a collective 40+ yrs in the business and we are very proud of them and their knowledge and helpfulness to our patients).
