Plaza Lane Optometry

Molly Lautamo moved from the Sierra Foothills to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz and graduated in June of ‘09. She started working in optometry right after graduation and so far, has greatly enjoyed gaining skills as an optician. You will see Molly’s friendly face during your eye examination.  She is our expert in using computerized diagnostic equipment including retinal photography.  In her free time, Molly enjoys writing, playing the piano and spending time outdoors.

Nathan Caracter moved to Santa Cruz from Wisconsin in 2006.  He has been in the optical business since 2003 and has experience in eyewear boutiques, optometrist’s offices and LASIK Vision centers.  He studied Theater Arts in college and continues to be involved in theater around the area.

Sally Mullen joined Plaza Lane Optometry’s vision care team over ten years ago as our receptionist.  She has since worked in every department and is now our valued office manager.  Sally has lived in Santa Cruz for 30 years and knows nearly everyone in town.  She and her husband, Rob, enjoy spending time with their granddaughter.

Kym Schillinger has been working in the optical field for the past ten years.  She is a native Santa Cruzan and worked in fashion and antiques prior to her optical career.  Kym’s creative energy is evident in the eye catching window displays you see along Pacific Avenue.   She has been with Plaza Lane Optometry since 2008.

Kristin Greathouse is the newest addition to our staff at Plaza Lane.  She brings with her extensive administrative knowledge including experience in the optical field.  Kristin especially enjoys working with the public and strives to achieve the highest level of customer service.  Kristin has lived is Santa Cruz for over thirty years and loves working in the Downtown area.  In Kristin’s free time she likes to cook, walk along the cliffs and spend quality playtime with her handsome nephews.
