Services: Contact Lenses
Contact lens options:
Special pricing is available when you order your lenses in quantity. An annual supply of lenses saves you money and can earn additional rebate coupons depending on the manufacturer. Make sure you check with the front staff when you leave the office.
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT):
A new technology that allows us to correct vision so that no glasses or contacts are necessary during the daytime. A specially designed lens is used to change the shape of the cornea, much like LASIK (refractive surgery). The difference is that this technique is reversible, unlike surgical procedures, and requires the regular wearing of the contacts at night. This technique is available for most prescriptions for nearsightedness.

Custom tinting and colors: Many soft lenses are available to either change or enhance eye color. Ask us or our staff to show you some color options when you come in and remember to mention this at your appointment if you are interested. There are many options to choose from, including lenses that change eye color, to really wild and crazy fun designs.
UV treatment: Available in certain soft and rigid gas permeable lenses. Make sure to discuss this with us if you spend a good deal of time outdoors.
Extended Wear soft lenses: Advances in contact lens material technology have made it possible for many patients to consider overnight wear as a viable option. Even though many patients have used their products for overnight wear, the risk of serious infection has kept us from recommending this as an option in the past.
Bifocal Contact Options: Over the past several years, more options have become available for contact lens wearers who need reading assistance. If you want to wear contacts which correct for far and near, there very well may be an option for you.
Astigmatic Contacts: Almost everyone with astigmatism can now be fit with lenses. If you have been told in the past that you are not a good candidate, please ask us.
Lenses available for:
Myopia/Hyperopia: Lenses to correct either nearsightedness or farsightedness have been available for many years now. Many options exist including lenses that are replaced every day. The original two week disposable continues to still be the most commonly used option for soft lens patients. Rigid lenses still have some advantages over soft once you adapt to them. Ask us when you come in as to what's best for you.
Astigmatism: Correctable with either soft or rigid gas permeable lenses. New products continue to hit the market all the time. The latest offering in soft lenses is the new one day wear for astigmatism called Focus Toric Dailies. Currently available in limited parameters, this lens will allow astigmatic patients the benefit that many other patients have discovered: it's great to be able to put on a fresh pair of lenses every day!
Presbyopia: There are choices for people who need more than one focal length corrected (those patients that might require a bifocal). There is a new soft bifocal on the market that looks promising, adding to the choices that existed previously for soft lens wearers. The choice that can consistently give the best results is still a bifocal rigid lens. New techniques for fitting have made these lenses an excellent choice for those that need both far and near help. Another technique that frequently works is referred to as monovision. The dominant eye is fit for distance vision and the non-dominant eye is fit for near vision.
Sounds strange? It can work better than you might imagine.
